Our monthly coffee mornings move to a permanent location for the remainder of the season. In February, we meet in the Bistro of  this downtown hotel, where Calea Victoriei's interbellum period had its heyday.  Come in from the cold and enjoy a hot beverage while catching up with friends.

Please help IWA thrive and grow by volunteering for a role on the Board/Council. IWA needs you! There will be a final opportunity at the coffee morning to put yourself forward for a board role.

To add some colour to the morning, new IWA member Silviya Jankowski will present Bicky Piccy, her exquisite bespoke "gourmart" confectioneries.

This event is free for full members and RON35 for trial members and guests.

Please sign up by the 12th, as requested by the venue, to help us with planning. Thank you!

It is the beginning of March - Women's Month! - and in Romania, this time of year goes hand-in-hand with the Mărțișor tradition.

In a collaboration with IWA, the Romanian Institute of Diplomacy invites us to a morning of discovery through a symposium and a workshop. In the first part, we will examine the role of the women within diplomacy, as perceived by their colleagues and experienced by themselves, and by exploring feminine archetypes from the psychological point of view. A panel of speakers will relate first-hand experiences and invite commentary and exchange from the audience.

The second part of the programme will be made up of a mini Mărțișor workshop, during which participants will hear the Mărțișor story and have the opportunity to handcraft a special memento.

Programme (slight variations in time and subject possible)

        10:00 - 10:05 Welcoming Remarks

        10:05 - 11:35  Women in Diplomacy  (4 speakers)

The roses can last up to 5 days and the idea is to have the flower-box decoration at your home for March 8th, the actual International Women's Day!

Cost: 120 lei payable in advance.
Please note: if you register but can't attend, you must cancel 3 days in advance or you must pay the full cost (unless someone from the Wait List takes your spot), due to purchase of supplies.
