The International Women's Association of Bucharest

There are no strangers, just friends we haven't met yet.

Welcome! Since 1978, IWA has been the spot for expat and local women to meet,
find friends, support charity, and explore Romania. We'd love for you to join us!

For over 25 years, we've been having fun and learning about this great place we all call home.  IWA has a wide variety of on-going groups, regular activities and special events. Some of our events are just for members, while others are for families or couples. Our activities evolve over time depending on the interests of our members, so if you don't see something you like, please let us know. We are all volunteers and always welcome your suggestions and help. Our members-only calendar has details on special events and ongoing clubs.

We're so glad you are visiting our website. The members of IWA are a diverse and dynamic group of women from around the world. We have a wide range of activities, ranging from serious to silly. We have fun in our clubs, lunches and outings. We enrich our time in Bucharest by learning more about Romania. We share a desire to impact less fortunate communities through our Charity grants, funded by a remarkable multicultural Christmas Bazaar in December.

We look forward to welcoming you at one of our monthly Newcomer Meetings or Coffee Mornings. There is truly something for everyone here so don't be a stranger! We look forward to meeting you.

Best wishes,
Terry, Maria, Ximena and all the women of IWA
