IWA is the place for expats and locals to meet, find friends, support charity, and explore Romania. We welcome women AND your accompanying husband/partner. Our members come from around the world, and from all walks of life.
Some of us are seasoned expats and diplomats, others of us are coming to a new country for the first time, or are repatriating here. We are business professionals and stay-at-home moms, artists and hikers… and more!
We have many small clubs (and are always open to new ideas) so you can find people with similar interests, or explore with us and learn something new. We offer a one month free Trial membership, so you can get to know us before you join.
Guests at our events may have their photo or video taken, and may email us their request to remove their image, if desired.

The International Women's Association of Bucharest is an independent, voluntary, charitable, non-profit and apolitical organization. The purpose of IWA is to promote friendship amongst women of all nationalities living in Romania, and to introduce its foreign members to the life and culture of our host country. In addition, IWA raises funds to support such charitable projects and organizations as IWA determines to be sound and worthy recipients of funding. IWA was founded in 1978 by members of the diplomatic community and local women, and became a legal association in 2000.
