IWA Privacy Policy: website / print / social media

IWA does not actively use cookies to monitor guests to our website. Third parties, including our web hosts Wild Apricot and Rohost, enable cookies; please use private browsing if you wish to disable them. (Wild Apricot privacy policies: www.wildapricot.com/privacypolicy ) IWA uses cookies on our website for our members, who must agree to our Privacy Policy before registering and using our site.

IWA requests your contact details and some personal information when you join, in order to fulfill our Mission: The International Women's Association of Bucharest is an independent, voluntary, charitable, non-profit and non-political organization. The purpose of IWA is to promote friendship amongst women of all nationalities living in Romania, and to introduce its foreign members to the life and culture of its country. In addition, IWA raises funds to support such charitable projects and organizations as IWA determines to be sound and worthy recipients of IWA funding.

Your data will be available to IWA Board members, events’ coordinators and other volunteers, and will be used to process and maintain your membership, send you emails and allow for events registrations. You may ask to see your data on file. This data is not shared with outside organizations, and is automatically deleted 60 days after your membership ends, or upon request.

If you chose to not share your name, nationality and contact details, IWA will be unable to process your membership. 

Limited information will be shared with other IWA members in our private Membership Directory, which must include your name and nationality. You may edit your other details and privacy settings via your profile, online anytime. We do not allow anonymous event registrations. 

IWA may  take photos or videos of members and visitors at our events. These images — as well as text/images/videos sent to us by members and others — may be shared in our magazines, on our website, in promotional materials, and on our Facebook and Youtube sites, as well as other social or news media. These items might be saved as part of our historical archive. If you do not wish your image shared, you need to inform the  photographers / videographers at our events, and also inform IWA via email of your objection, and direct us toward any image/text you wish removed.
