IWA Bucharest Fashion Show 2019

Uniting WOMEN from around the world to help WOMEN in Romania

We belive that beauty stirs within the human spirit one of the most noble emotions: altruism.

Fyodor Dostoyevsky once wrote that “Beauty will save the world”: Second edition of Bucharest Charity Fashion Show aims to unite the forces of those who, attracted by the beauty of our local designer’s creations, want to make a change in the lives of thousands of people who don’t have access to medical care.

A celebration of Romanian creativity. A moment to come together and appreciate beaty. A chance of contribute.

6 outstanding collections will be presented within a fashion show, that will start as networking event but will end with a memorable party. 300 personalities from the business and diplomatic world, VIP’s and media are expected to join our mission once again.

WHO WILL BE THE BENEFICIARY?

Fundatia Regina Maria (FRM), an independent foundation, owns the only fully-equipped social clinics in Romania addressing a social category neglected by the medical system: people without income and/or health insurance.

IWA joins FRM in the BCFS, a fundraising effort to support women, and mothers in particular, who require examination by the physician, medication, ultrasounds, mammograms and laboratory tests but have no access to medical care outside of FRM-funded social clinis. Apart from covering the ongoings costs for such women’s medical program, FRM is going to set up two new dental cabinets.

Through funds raised by the BCFS, IWA will contribute to the free medical care that approximately 1,200 women will continue to receive in the Fundatia Inovatii Sociale Regina Maria clinic as part of the “Help a mother rise again” program.

Indeed, let women help women!

IWA Venice Carnival Ball 2020 Brings Hope Where Needed

In support of street children of Bucharest

On the 8th of February 2020, the International Women’s Association of Bucharest created a night to remember with its sparkling event benefiting “the street children” of Bucharest. The city’s very first Venetian Carnival Ball, which took place at Palatul Bragadiru in Bucharest, helped raise funds to fully support Parada Foundation to buy a new heating system in one of their facilities.

IWA Vice President and IWA Venice Carnival Ball creator Gillian Adamson said, ‘we made this ball magical; an evocative and much-anticipated fest, unique in terms of the venue, its masks and its atmosphere. An awakening from winter and anticipating the start of spring. A night full of surprises with dazzling entertainment; we learned to waltz with experts and danced the night away. We ate, drank and enjoyed an evening of mystique and fun.

Amongst the stars of the evening’s rich programme were opera singers, soprano Egle and baritone Vasile ChiČ™iu, of the National Opera of Bucharest. They supported the fundraiser with their beautiful voices and touching performance. We watched and danced with the guidance of Baletul IUNO Dance troupe, who stunned the attendees. The evening was hosted by TV presenter Claudiu Popa, a wonderful Master of Ceremonies, who eased everyone into waltzing through a night filled with glamour and surprising delights.
